The award-winning "most eco-friendly" Vegetarian Food Studio brings you a fantastic range of vegetarian and vegan Indian dishes at even more fantastic prices!
Bringing you the tastiest flavours from Asia, the Chefs use the freshest herbs and vegetables to create dishes that are not only unique but also truly delicious. The food is 100% vegetarian and contains no fish or eggs; most dishes prepared are also suitable for vegans and they can cater for diabetics, as well as those with special dietary requirements, which is why the restaurant has an army of devotees.
With a choice of traditional Southern Indian dishes and an Oriental section the menu is diverse. The authentically-cooked traditional dishes, best eaten by hand with rotli (bread) and bhaat (rice), include the popular ringan nu saak, a dry aubergine curry in a rich masala sauce and katyavadi undiyu, various Indian vegetables cooked in a special sauce topped with methi pakora and patra. If you like it really hot then try the garlic chilli dosa, a large rice and corn pancake filled with dry potato curry, with hot garlic chutney, sambar and cool yoghurt chutney.
The authentic Gujarati thali is the Studio's most popular choice, consisting of the curry of the day, rice with daal (spicy lentil soup), two starters, a sweet dish and roasted poppadom - all for just £4.99. To cool down your taste buds the Studio offer homemade desserts with ice cream or faluda, a traditional Indian drink made with rose syrup, ice cream, vermicelli and poppy seeds.
With an enviable local reputation for friendly, accommodating service and the focus squarely on vegetarians and vegans, this family-run restaurant is a real find. You can even take your own alcohol for a small corkage charge.
