This is part of the striking, new Eastgate development between St Werbs and Tesco's, in what was the Eastville Market, and is a vast Chinese first-floor 400-seater restaurant over a supermarket and indoor Chinese High St where you can eat the real McCoy-san when it comes to Chinese food. Watersky follows the Dynasty model closely and does it rather well. All the standard favourites are there, on the vast menu. Be bold in your choice and go for the truly authentic selections of Dim Sum. Failing that, try the deep fried soft shell crabs with salt & chilli pepper or the lobster. There's also a covered roof terrace. Good for large parties.

Good Authentic Chinese

Visited on a lunch time which is typically quiet it seems, but there were a few Chinese people eating & only one other English couple - always a good sign!
Their Dim Sum is lovely, we had 3 or so to share & I remember the lobster parcels being yum - they bizarrely came with a salad cream dip but it worked. Also had some great noodles. I would like to go back to do the all you can eat - ordering off the menu on an evening when it is a bit busier.

Great Chinese Food

Went to water Sky last night with seven friends. We decided to go for the all you can eat which can often mean lower quality food but not in this case.
The food was excellent, some of the best chinese food i've ever had.
As there were eight of us and we shared all our food the list would be too long to write up here but my highlights were the crispy duck, lemon chicken and the spare ribs.
Service was very attentive and polite and friendly and the price was a very reasonable £12.95, considering the amount of food on offer it is a bargain.
I will definitly be revisiting the Water Sky.
The only criticism, if you can call it that, is that the restaurant is so big, the ambiance is somewhat lost in it but if you are with a group of friends, this matters little.

5 of us ate at this restaurant and nobody was disappointed. Even though it was in the run up to Christmas the food was excellent (we went for the Christmas set menu @ £21.95 per head for 5 courses). There was a great variety of dishes all of which were well prepared and presented. The staff were not only courteous but also friendly. I have to say that this is the best chinese meal I have ever had.

Dim Sum to die for

(Date of visit estimated) - This was my second visit to Water Sky. Both were in the 12 noon - 5pm dim sum timeslot. Both times the customers were a bit thin on the ground in this huge space, but the ratio of Chinese was high, which has to be good. In fact, on the first occasion one of my dining companions was a Chinese colleague, who enjoyed the meal immensely, despite Cantonese not being his native cuisine.
The room is immense and a little soulless, but that is more than made up for by the attentiveness of the service and the quality of the food. I have to admit I haven't tried dim sum anywhere else, but the taste sensation here is overwhelming. It was helpful to have our Chinese friend on the first occasion and our attempt to emulate the selection of dishes without him was a little fraught, but we needn't have bothered, everything was excellent. One of our number was a bit squeamish about the idea of Chickens' Feet, so we skipped that, but the resulting variety of seafood soup, spicy rice, dumplings of all sorts and so on was great.
On both occasions we ended up paying about £15 per head for food, which I consider excellent value for this event (more than a meal - allow plenty of time). The beer is a bit expensive, so maybe some tea or water would be a good option if money is an issue.
An excellent all-round experience, definitely recommended.
