What we say

Named for a renowned eighteenth century architect, Woods occupies the ground floor of no fewer than five Georgian townhouses in a cul-de-sac opposite The Assembly Rooms and is an established and favoured haunt for Bath diners. The high-ceilinged and roomy restaurant is decorated with memorabilia and a collection of racing prints, set off by a succession of vibrantly green architectural plants.

On offer is a French bistro range of tantalising interesting dishes (try the timbale of Cornish crab and chicken breast) built around fresh local produce, including fish, game and poultry. The menu is great value for money and the service is totally unpretentious. Popular after games with the doctors and lawyers who love their food almost as much as their rugby. Outside dining is an option in fine weather.
