You may have seen a past review I wrote of La Tasca in Bristol (on the Triangle near Park Street) ~ It was a vey poor review, check it out by clicking on my avatar <----
I am down in Reading on business for the week and trying to keep my expenses within set budgets but also wanting to have a decent meal; La Tasca do “Tapas for a Tenner” on certain nights, this is what I went for with a glass of Torres. I did enjoy the meal.
The La Tasca in Reading has restored the credibility of the La Tasca chain of restaurants. This particular restaurant is good; it has the same décor and the same menu as the La Tasca in Bristol (on the Triangle) but you have different staff, and buy God does it make a huge difference. Dishes that I would recommend: Calamari, Patatas Bravas & Pinchos de Pollo. One dish I would not recommend; Tomatoes and goats cheese salad… not nice. It would have gone down much better with a bit of olive oil and balsamic vinegar… but they don’t stock any balsamic vinegar…Shock!
So to sum up; go to La Tasca in Bristol (on the Triangle) if you wish to waste a tenner, and go to La Tasca in Reading if you wish to have a really good value for money meal.
