  i was lucky to be taken for dinner here. the ambience was buzzy but not overpowering and surprisingly full for a thursday evening. after having an interesting and tasty coffee martini (my first ever) near the bar we were shown to our table and served by a charming and friendly waitress from paris who enthused about england (nice for a change!). the menu was varied and international, ranging from risotto to thai curry to burgers. We had the 'starters to share' including edamame beans which the others quite liked to their surprise (the pods were a bit tough!!!).(but then we found that one's not supposed to eat them!) my main course was the scottish fish pie which was delicious and large. (so large, in fact, that i was hoping to take enough for another portion home, but due to an unfortunate accident...) anyway the complimentary coconut rice pud with strawberry compote did much to compensate. we also shared a nice bottle of chenin blanc. prices are not near the low side, but we had a voucher which gave us a sizeable discount. all in all, a lovely evening.
