A Bath Ales sidestreet pub with plenty of character, a good range of beer and a decent menu which reaches more towards gastropub style than your average steak n chips menu.
Hake, butterbeans and chorizo is a classic comibination and was boosted by a flavourful ratatouille clearly made with fresh vegetables rather being a frozen affair. The hake was ever so slightly past its best but was cooked and presented nicely and the chorizo was a little too mild in flavour for my preference.
Service was friendly and the food arrived quickly - perfect a workday lunch.
